(nl) Je hebt het misschien al wel gemerkt. In mijn laatste update schreef ik in het Nederlands en in het Engels. Dat komt omdat ik vanaf september Nederlands studeer aan de Universiteit van Zürich. Om het een beetje te oefenen probeer ik vanaf nu eerst in het Nederlands en dan in het tweede deel Engels te schrijven. (dus wees lief met me, ik zal zeker ook fouten maken)

Zoals je waarschijnlijk weet woon ik in Zwitserland, maar heb ik een Nederlands paspoort. Thuis praten we vrijwel altijd Nederlands, luisteren naar de Nederlandse radio, kijken Nederlandse TV en ontbijten we natuurlijk met hagelslag, muisjes en calvé pindakaas. (en als we geluk hebben, hebben we ook nog een ontbijtkoek op voorrad.) Daarnaast was ik altijd al geïnteresseerd in de geschiedenis van mijn tweede thuisland. Ik hoop dat ik door de studie nog veel meer in aanraking kom met de taal, literatuur en cultuur van het platte land in het noorden van europa.

As you already might have noticed, I have written in Dutch as well as in English in my last Blog update.  The reason is that I’m about to start studying Dutch at the University in Zürich. To exercise my Dutch writing I will write in Dutch and in the second part I’ll give you an English translation.

At home we almost only talk Dutch, listen to the Dutch radio, watch Dutch television and breakfast of course with the traditional hagelslag, muisjes and calvé peanutbutter. (and if we’re lucky we can even enjoy a typical Dutch ontbijtkoek.) I’ve always been interested in the history of my second homeland. I hopefully can learn a lot about the language, literature and culture of the flat land in the north of Europe.
