Obviously it started very innocent. My parents sent me to a swimming school here nearby when I was about four years old. I can remember that I had to go swimming on Saturday mornings, which was quite an inconvenient time for me. Because I’m rather a person that needs a lot of sleep, it already then was a battle to wake up early and to jump into the cold water a little hour later. Nevertheless I really enjoyed swimming.
I can’t remember a lot but what I do remember is that I finished my swimming diplomas and then went on with swimming in our local swimming club. I did that for about three years. When my dance lesson times started to conflict with the swim trainings I had to make a choice.
This choice really bothered me so I asked my mother wether there was any kind of possibility to combine these two sports. My mother, fortunately answered in the affirmative and told me about her passion in her teens, synchronized swimming. (now it is called artistic swimming). We went to see a show of the swimming club in Solothurn together. Four weeks after (7 January 2009) I took part in my first training. I didn’t need to think twice about it and knew immediately that from then on I would do synchronized swimming.
